Kingdom / Kyou Kai #1 Assassin in all Seven Kingdoms!
« on: September 15, 2016, 02:39:47 pm »
Kyou Kai is one of the many favorite characters in Kingdom, a young and beautiful woman with monstrous abilities to boot. She says very little but when she does, it’s straight to the point. So what’s happening with Kyou Kai? Not sure if anyone else has noticed but lately, I’ve seen a shift with her character to be precise with her personality. Do you remember the time she plunged into Ryuu Tou’s camp, when one of her soldiers minutes before grabbed her arm, I immediately thought she would take his head off instead she reasoned with him. To make matters worse, she actually had dialogue with Ryuu Tou before cutting him down. This is not a trait of an assassin. Has she gone soft? It’s clear the lieutenant has begun to show a warm side never seen before. Has Kyou Kai finally cut loose all ties with her past as an assassin? And, will this affect future missions?

Kingdom / Queen Mother’s Name?
« on: September 15, 2016, 12:42:51 pm »
The Queen Mother, King Ei Sei’s mom is an important figure in Kingdom yet we still have no mention of her real name. Back, way back in chapter 186, Ryo Fui, her ex-lover nicknames or calls her by an alias. Do you know what this is? And, does the name bear any special meaning? Another important fact is that the Queen is from Kantan the royal capital of the state of Zhao. 8^)

Kingdom / Wei’s Eight Finger Strategists
« on: September 15, 2016, 11:57:37 am »
Besides Hyou Ki, the strategist that was shamefully bested by young Ka Ryo Ten and is undoubtedly still alive, we have yet to see whom else in Wei bears this title. Jun Sou, Gai Mou’s strategist, unfortunately is not one of the Eight Finger Strategists. What does “Eight Finger Strategist” mean? Is it literal?

Kingdom / General Kan Ki and his Band of Misfits
« on: September 15, 2016, 11:23:57 am »
I'm actually surprised that we don't have more documentation about Kan Ki's past. When this arc began, I thought to myself, here’s an opportunity to get a flashback, especially why his character is so dark, bitter, and mysterious. He's such an important figure in Kingdom and his contributions thus far move King Ei Sei closer to his goal. His lieutenants, Rai Do, Koku Ou, Ma Ron, and Chuu Ki as well as his commanders Zenou and Ogiko, all seem so interesting in their own right. Then, there's Ring Yoku, the military officer that acts as his administrative assistant. This one in particular bears the look of joker, but can't tolerate the Saki clan's methods of torture. What's wrong with this picture? Kan Ki on the other hand seems completely comfortable with the whole thing, what a ghoul. Point is, there are so many clans under General Kan Ki’s command, and yet all we have is pure speculation and very little concrete information about them coming together. Which begs the question, does General Kan Ki adhere to the same method as General Ou Sen in order to attain soldiers? We know that General Ou Sen gives his enemy/opposition a choice when captured, live under his total command or die. Not a very appealing ultimatum but they get the point quickly. What are your thoughts on the matter? 8^)

Kingdom / Chapter 489
« on: September 14, 2016, 05:57:39 pm »
The current chapter solidifies that King Ouken is willing to indirectly assist Qin by not interfering with its takeover of neighboring states. Basically, Qi has surrendered peacefully to avoid bloodshed. So, can Qi, officially be considered the first state taken under control by Qin? And, can it be kept a secret for long. I think it’s only a matter of time before Riboku and the other states realize what is going on. And yet, Riboku may already have an indication about King Ouken's motive for being there, considering that this is not the first time he has betrayed the other kingdoms. During the coalition invasion, Qi did the same. I mean, why else would King Ouken personally venture to Qin, especially now that it hasn't declared war with Qi. Riboku isn’t going to fall for the same thing again. I think he will alert the surrounding states just in time to make the necessary preparations against Qin. What do you think? 8^)

Kingdom / HSU's next Assignment?
« on: September 14, 2016, 04:21:31 pm »
Whom do you think Shin, well technically the HSU, will face against next? Will it be against Zhao, or will they head to Chu and meet up with great general Moubu? As I recall, there are two great forces/powers at Chu, Karin, and Renpa. Each equally superior at warfare and whose prowess is second to none. Perhaps Wei, back to Chiyoyou, where great general Tou is currently stationed, and where Shin previously contributed to gain a foothold. Hopefully, he can manage against the sleight of hand of general Gohoumei and hit the right target lol. 8^)

Kingdom / Who should be General first?
« on: September 14, 2016, 12:31:28 pm »
I understand it's difficult to gauge because Hara hasn't given us substantial data about Ouhon and Mouten. Yet, we do know they come from a soldier cast. And, compared to them, Shin is of a different breed, I'm talking about his personality. Shin views things differently, he fights dogma and is trying to change how people treat each other. Whereas, the other two could not give a hoot who is raped, pillaged, and so on. To me, Shin is fighting a way of life and the evil that surrounds us. If I had to pick which of them has moved forward, and deserves to be general, my choice would be Shin. Martial prowess and intellect, in my opinion isn't enough, you need someone, or people, who can shape the world with good deeds. People who think with more than just their mind. Of course, this all depends given a certain situation. Nonetheless, who do you prefer makes general first? 8^)

Kingdom / Shou Hei Kun's Past
« on: September 14, 2016, 12:02:26 pm »
I have always been skeptical about Shouheikun and after I read his side story, Moubu and the Chu Prince, which coincidentally reveals so much about his fate and compels me to see him in a new light. A negative one to be exact. And, certain aspects about him seem both odd and mysterious. Specifically, the way he carries on about obtaining specific individuals. All hint at a bigger plan. What exactly?

Kingdom / Naki joins the HSU
« on: September 14, 2016, 10:45:35 am »
I think it's important to note, that Shin is not a general, yet people, well basically soldiers, get the urge to join him and his endeavors. Something about him, that attracts people to his cause. I can't begin to express how many times Shin has made a fool of himself, on the other hand, a number of his opponents have claimed he emits, what they perceive, is the air of a general. Most of the men in the HSU are morally conscious and bound by the same ethical code as Shin, but Naki and his men are simply bandits. And, due to his vague background and association with Kanki, I use to think he was up to no good. I even contemplated that he might be a double agent, but for who lol. I guess skepticism got the best of me but this doesn't change the fact that they are bandits. So, what roll could Naki and his men play in the HSU? I mean, we really don't know much about him or his men. Granted the HSU lost a lot of soldiers during the KokuYou campaign and is in need of recruits, all thanks to Kanki of course, but how will they actually fit in given that their past is full of hideous, atrocious acts? Good or bad, do you think Naki and his men will benefit the HSU? 8^)

Kingdom / Ka Ryo Ten's Future
« on: September 13, 2016, 07:09:46 pm »
Personally, I adore this young lady. She's bold, witty, intelligent, and most of all, committed to the cause. One can almost say, there's never a lack of theoretical knowledge and leadership when she's afoot. She's slowly making a name for herself, a cog vital to the HSU. This has been proven time and time again, but her attractive qualities as a strategist still require polishing. I say this with the utmost respect for her character. With that aside, Ten has the potential to grow exponentially. My point is, Ten is getting better at what she does in fact, she has kept the HSU from falling into total chaos on more than one occasion, even dubbed linchpin. And, as the HSU moves ahead, she will learn to decipher with greater clarity the opposition’s weak points. I hope Hara, the author, develops her character accordingly. Albeit typical for this era, I'd hate to see her role as a strategist overshadowed because she's a female. Props to Ten the youngest female member of the HSU with an exceptional future ahead. I expect great things from Ten, great indeed. 8^)
