Typesetting - Bentoki [fail]
« on: June 21, 2018, 12:17:26 pm »
Username: Bentoki
Version of Photoshop: 2018
Time zone: Australian Western Standard Time (+8)
Age Group: 21+
Availability Schedule: Full time University student, should be able to at least do a chapter a week on uni break now though.
Preferred Projects: Kingdom, Orient.
Previous work/experience: I'm currently in Helvetica Scans, have done Kings' Viking for the past year or so. Had worked on Baby Steps for Angelic Scans and Fallen Angels for the past 50 or so chapters of that. Last chapter: https://helveticascans.com/r/read/kings-viking/en/4/0/36/
Any additional information you feel is relevant: I'm no hero with typesetting but I think I'm pretty decent, been doing it for 2 years or so, know my way around photoshop as far as anything that a TS is required. Also I know Kev who is in helvetica now (milnivek)

Hi Bentoki,
Sorry for taking so long to get to your test.

Unfortunately you have failed the test.
While your bubble shaping looked decent throughout the test, the font size was way too small for majority of the bubbles along with wrong fonts used. Judging by your previous works, it seems that is just the style you have settled into which doesn't fit well with ours and it would take too much time to fix them constantly.

Thank you for taking the test.

Thanks for taking the time to mark my test. That's just personal preference I guess, and my groups typically prioritize shaping and bubbles looking nice over font filling up bubbles, this seems to be a professional standard too. I'd be happy to use bigger sizes if typesetting for your series, but if you really think that it's something that can't be fixed then there is nothing that I can do.
