Do you continue to translate this despite the licensed release getting ripped every week because you don't like Kodansha's translation or some other reason? Just wondering since it seems to be a duplicated effort and the project's staff might otherwise have time for unlicensed projects.

Personally I don't agree with a lot of their translation choices or the way they edit their releases, and I believe the team mirrors this for the most part.
Now that's not to say we don't purchase the chapters out of support for the author. everyone should be doing that much.
We'd been working on it for about 2-3 months before the simulpub so the team grew an attachment to the project. When the simulpub was launched we agreed to only host a limited number of chapters to respect the author and publisher.

The biggest thing with new projects is interest. Moving a 4-man team off a project they're passionate about doesn't automatically mean another random one gets released.
Hope this provides a bit of clarity, even if it isn't what most people want to hear.
